Birth To Three, a long-time parenting education non-profit organization based in Lane County, has changed its name to Parenting Now!®

“Birth To Three went through a thoughtful strategic planning process and set a goal of updating our name to reflect that we offer programs for families with children up to age 8,” says Minalee Saks, executive director and co-founder of the organization.

“Although our name is changing, we’ll still be the same organization people know and value, and we’ll continue to work to fulfill our mission that all children are raised by nurturing, skilled parents. There is a critical need for parents to have education and support to help them through the early child-rearing years, and research shows the benefit for the child, the family and society.”

“We know how important Birth To Three is to our alumni,” says Saks, “which is why we are creating a ‘then’ and ‘now’ memory page on our new website.”

More information and history of the organization is available in a column written by Saks.

Alumni are invited to submit photos of themselves and their Birth To Three children, families or group, along with the year(s) they were in a group, plus a current photo. For details, visit the Then And Now photo album.

The newly named Parenting Now!, formerly Birth To Three, was founded in 1978 and has provided 93,000 Lane County parents and children with a variety of parenting groups and services. Parenting Now! programs serve residents who have a wide range of incomes, ages and education levels. Its programs have been converted into curricula, training and materials that sell worldwide, helping to support the cost of providing local programs.
